What you will learn

This e-course offers around 12 hours of online learning, divided into 6 modules.

Module 1 - Job design and person profiling: ensure that you are clear about the role's content (and its place in your organization) so that you create an accurate benchmark against which to compare candidates and how to design the right selection criteria using our Model of Human Capability.

Module 2 - Job advertising: avoid the common pitfalls of advertising and ensure you attract the candidates you want.

Module 3 - CV screening: learn the cues to look for in candidates' CVs to help you in efficient shortlisting for your vacancies.

Module 4 - Candidate assessment: we'll look at a range of assessment methods, show you how to design and conduct effective interviews, avoid legal pitfalls and how to become an employer of choice to attract and retain good candidates. We will also introduce you to the 'missing link' in human capability assessment - how to measure an individual's mental capability (in terms of their current and future potential) so that you can create a perfect match with the role's requirements.

Module 5 - Decision-making: learn a simple system for pulling together all the data you have and how to interpret it when making a final selection decision.

Module 6 - Induction and training: so your new candidate has started. Now the real work begins. How to ensure that they stay with you and that you build a mutually-rewarding relationship.
